Data Center (Preaction System)

Protect Your Data Infrastructure. Without the Water Risk.

Data centres and server rooms demand the highest level of fire protection precision — suppressing a fire with absolute reliability while ensuring that inadvertent water discharge cannot destroy irreplaceable IT infrastructure. Digitech designs and installs pre-action fire suppression systems specifically engineered for data centre environments, combining the reliability of sprinkler-based suppression with the safety of a two-signal actuation requirement. Our systems are designed to NFPA 13 and NBC standards and are coordinated with your facility’s very early smoke detection and gas suppression layers for complete protection coverage.

Single Interlock, Double Interlock, and Flooding Systems

Digitech designs all categories of pre-action suppression systems based on your data centre’s risk profile, fire detection architecture, and insurance requirements:

Single Interlock Pre-Action

Sprinkler pipework charges with water when the detection system activates — but sprinkler heads must still fuse thermally before water discharges, providing one layer of confirmation.

Double Interlock Pre-Action

Water enters the pipework only when both the fire detection system AND a sprinkler head activate — providing maximum protection against accidental discharge in critical spaces.

Deluge Pre-Action (Flooding)

All sprinkler heads open simultaneously on system activation — used for specific high-value areas where simultaneous suppression across the entire zone is required.

A Layered Approach to Data Centre Fire Protection

Pre-action suppression is one layer in a comprehensive data centre fire protection strategy. Digitech designs and integrates the complete protection stack for your critical infrastructure environment.

VESDA / Aspirating Detection

Very early smoke detection identifying sub-visible smoke particles long before a conventional detector would activate — providing maximum evacuation and response time.

Gas Suppression (FM-200 / Inert Gas)

Clean agent suppression as the primary or supplementary suppression layer — extinguishing fires without water, residue, or damage to IT equipment.

Pre-Action Sprinkler

Water-based backstop suppression activated only under confirmed fire conditions, preventing catastrophic fire spread if clean agent fails to control the event.
